Job Coaching

The approach to Job Coaching by Career Discovery will be to gain a solid foundation of the tasks that will be assigned to the individual being served prior to the individual’s start date. This will be accomplished by the designated job coach introducing himself/herself to the future employer prior to the start date, and spending time observing the tasks that will be introduced to the individual receiving services through VRS.

The coaches employed by Career Discovery will be individuals who have experience working with individuals on several different levels. These individuals will range from special education paraprofessionals, teachers, job coaches previously employed through various school districts, and individuals who have at one point in time worked for VRS. Career Discovery will be pairing coaches with individuals who will be employed at a location that fits the coach’s strengths to help build a foundation for the individual starting his/her new career.
